Uber Blokes

After all that chatter in my last blog about Norseman, I thought it time to talk about the new idiom used to describe extreme blokey-types, or manly men à la U2’s, Bono.
The idiom is “ubersexuals” girls. Not to be confused with metrosexuals, those very cute models CK contracts to do his undie ads. FYI Über is German for “over” as in overly testosteroney.
It’s a Boy

For those bloggers who do not know, Australia’s very own, Mary Donaldson, future Queen of Denmark, has had a baby boy. That’s right, the baby prince is half Danish and half Australian.
Mary met Crown Prince Frederik and some of his mates out boozing one night at a pub in Sydney during the 2000 summer Olympics. Suddenly they had a thing going and voila, fast-forward five years: Mary and Fred are married, and now Mary is a royal mum.

Bigger, Better, Stronger

The new hurricane mandate is this: As of today, all future hurricanes will be named Martha, as in Martha 1, Martha 2, Martha 3, and so on.
The reason: Omnimedia giant, Martha Stewart, is a human whirlwind of unparalleled proportion (except for Ted, et al), and thus, it is time to recognize and honor her as the power that she is.

Ugg(ly) Boots

The transition from summer to fall is in the air and in all the fashion mags. This means it’s the time of year again when Ugg Australia flaunts full-page ads for their foot and boot wear.
The hope is that American readers will read “Ugg” and make positive associations along the lines of wooly, fluffy, cute, fun, warm boot.
