Power of Thought

16 October 2006

Tomorrow is a very big day for positive what if-ing.  It’s Heart Chakra Day.

Dedicate this day to focusing on love, prosperity, healing, kindness and gratitude.  Imagine your life, and the lives of others, abundant with the positive stuff.

And how do I know about HC Day?

Best girlfriend, Isa, forwarded me one of those emails.  You know the type, the operative word is “forwarded” such that the message has gone global before arriving in your in-box with a highlighted Subject along lines of, “You’ve gotta read this!

Usually I scan those emails and delete them, but this one I read with interest; only 24-hours earlier, I’d watched The Secret, a documovie that details a similar premise to What The Bleep Do we Know.

If you’ve seen What The Bleep you’re probably familiar with the idea that there’s a connection between what we think and what we manifest, i.e. you focus on the negative and what happens?  Shit happens!

The premise is The Law of Attraction: you are a magnet for what you focus on.

I guess synchronicity or the woo-woo forces were at work because …I watched The Secret, I was visually and auditorily bombarded with the idea that we bring in what think about …

I thought a lot about the law of attraction …

Shortly thereafter, the HC Day email arrived with a message about manifesting abundance on all levels by opening the heart charkra.

Gawd, you know there really is something powerful and mysterious about synchronous events.  Isn’t there?

I never used to believe our reality is the manifestation of our thoughts, but tomorrow, I am going to open my heart, and my mind, and I’m going to focus on “what if ” my life and everyone’s life were filled with love, prosperity and healing.

And then, I’m going to give plenty of attention to how grateful I am for all that is already good and wonderful in my life - now that will be easy because I won’t have to imagine or “what if,” I’ll only need to look around to see that it’s true.

I ”hear hear” this with aplomb, dear tildy, and may your beautiful life manifest in ways of dreams, potentials, imagination, magic and sheer love galore.

Oh wow, I just read the global email and also watched The Secret days ago and I can feel the opening…it’s big this one, Tildy.  Good blog girlfriend. Postively moving..

When I watched ( the secret) it reminded me of many Buddist teachings I have read as to be mindful of what you think as well as say, to keep your mind and heart open to the present and to be greatful everday. The laws of attraction are so much like Dharma and karma and how they intertwine in our everyday life.

Well, the problem I find in “The Secret”, “What the Bleep” and so on, is how in the end they seem to appeal to your lowest nature; sort of reducing spirituality to its most feel-good new-age part (ugh!), and even worse, mixing that with some sort of spiritual capitalism self-help. More ugh ugh ugh.
