March Forward

You know what I love about the northern hemisphere - namely living in the middle of America squished up against the Rocky Mountains - the seasonal extremes.

A few weeks ago Boulder resembled a frozen tundra scene from Dr. Zhivago, and now, with the early advent of daylight saving, we’re in the throws of spring, i.e. the snow has melted, the temperature is warmer, and there’s thawing dog shit everywhere.

Noise D’Jour

The 1994 Australian film, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, celebrated “a c… in a frock on a rock.”  Last night, the Academy Awards red-carpet gowns celebrated ‘rocks on frocks’! 

The ‘c…s’, a.k.a. blokes, in their standard-issue dinner suits created a pleasantly neutral backdrop for the ornamented evening dresses favored by many this year.

Good Times

Even though today is relatively warm, this winter in Boulder “Global Warming” is a phenomenon happening somewhere else. 

For almost two months now we’ve been living the frozen-Russian-tundra scene from Dr. Zhivago.  On the sub-zero days life has felt similarly tortured, though (from my perspective) not nearly as romantic.
